The title says it all about today's topic...yes, because in fact these are things for women, men (don't be offended) in this case just can't understand..

Many times I have thought: "if I were reborn, would I want to be reborn as a woman?" My answer is definitely NOOOOOO...exactly because being a woman is a real pain in the ass, being one in those 5 days of the month (or rather 5 days out of 28) is even more of a pain in the ass.
Crazy hormones, mood swings, temperature changes, hunger pangs (sweet, salty, salty, sweet), acne, pain, migraines and above all... the pad, my number one enemy since I became a woman.
Years ago, super thin, anatomical pads with wings didn't exist...but only those fantastic things that looked more like incontinence pads given their embarrassing thickness, for someone who had to play volleyball wearing panties instead of shorts it was a total nightmare.
With the passage of time and new technologies, fortunately, things have changed and the situation has improved a bit, but what hasn't improved at all is the material with which they are currently produced....plastic.
The much-loved plastic, the one we like so much, the one that is now used to make everything including clothing: from socks to shoes, from technical t-shirts to thermal pants... (but that's another story for now).
For a few years now, my mission has been to have an increasingly sustainable life (as far as possible), I started with recycling and slowly I try to make some progress, day after day and pads are part of this change.
Summer is undoubtedly the worst season to wear them, heat, plastic, skin and sweat don't particularly get along with each other, initially I thought about converting to the cup but having already difficulty with internal tampons it couldn't be the most suitable solution for my needs but menstrual panties are.
Wow, if I think about it, they really changed my life, I went from having 2 pairs to having at least 8 or 10, I spent a fortune but it was the best money I spent in recent times.
Bottom line, no more plastic around and above all no more plastic in contact with my body (only one is not cotton), no more irritations and not only that....my sustainability index has increased by at least one point (yay).
According to what was indicated, they should last for at least 50 washes, so I would say that for a few years they are definitely fine and the environment certainly thanks me (me too).
And when I am out of the house?!
When I am unable to for particular reasons I simply use cotton pads and panty liners, better if biodegradable and compostable.
Try it and believe it ;-), I am sure that you will find them great too.
See you soon
Silvia
